Reducing Your Business Costs In Times Of Economic Uncertainty
Reducing Your Business
Costs In Times Of Economic Uncertainty
|
|

|
As we all know, the current economic decline and uncertainty of its
future means for most of us that our markets shrink in size. Those that
survive can grab some of the market space that defunked competitors
have left, but even then you take a risk of sizing up in a market that
is shrinking.
Speaking to many business people it is clear the objective is simple
survival. Shrink your business to manage a demand that you can supply.
If demand is higher than you can supply, it isn't a case automatically
of sizing up to meet that demand as that demand may not be there
tomorrow as the market again shrinks.
|
So,
as sale revenues reduce your profits are hit because your fixed costs
remain the same. If your business has a high proportion of fixed costs
to variable costs then you clearly know you are running a risk of
extinction.
Businesses with a higher variable cost can survive longer as they have
less costs for just existing they need to cover each month.
Retailers for example have a high risk situation. They have tenancies
to pay and working capital in stock that needs to be shifted.
Landlords, from my experience do not seem to be eager enough to reduce
the price of a lease or rent, nor local governments with business taxes.
|

|
So what do you do?
you are the business owner. Everything stops with you.
Sometimes you might feel like a small cog in a large complicated
economic 'clock' yet when it comes to it, your cog is the key piece
that makes everything turn.
No one else is taking much of a risk it seems. Everyone wants their
slice of your business and get paid, yet are not so eager to help when
markets are shrinking.
|
You have to look at
reducing your costs, both fixed and variable. But
where can you find cost reductions that don't cause your business to
struggle with the change and become less competitive. For competition in
a declining market is more important than within a growing market as a
declining market is about survival whislt a growing market is about
your performance and pace of grow and market aquisition performance.
Loosing staff tends to be high on the list of options. If you have less
work, then you need less people. yet many times the staff lost are
those who have a lot of experience and skill that they take with them
that you may never recover, and when the markets stabalise and
hopefully grow again, it will cost you more to develop that same
experience in a new team member. Of course my comments here are quite
generic and of course, loosing staff, once of the higher costs to
companies these days, is vital.
One way that we can offer here that will not cost you anything in lost
assets is the supply of music to your business environment. For years
the cost of music to businesses has been dictated by national
performing rights societies, yet as the Internet developed and
technology to create quality music has increased over the last ten
years this has shifted the playing field on the incombants of this
market.
Music can now be distributed across the Internet from artists who have
been able to create quality music with a much lower cost of production
than ever before. Artists are eager to make a living out of their music
and are keen to look at new ways to create an income from their assets.
Performing rights societies have not been able to support the smaller
artists who are not as well known as chart topping artists and so they
have not been able to track the smaller artists' use of music in public
places so artists who have music registered with performing rights
societies still dont get to see earnings from any use of their music in
this way.
Until now.
By singing their music to agents such as Background Music Library
artists are able to see tangible earnings from their music that
otherwise would not be achieved.
Business too can benefit. The costs of an operation to deliver music to
you are dramatically reduced. Background Music Library does not employ
offices full of staff searching for music being used without licenses
and suited individuals walking the streets checking businesses that
have no licenses to see if they are playing music.
We are a highly efficient and lean organisation. We run out business
and our artists using the Internet as our core communication and
delivery system. Having been passionate about the Internet since the
mid 1990's we still continue to see the Internet as one of, if not the
most significant development in the last hundred years. It shapes our
world in many ways and, perhaps even more importantly, it challenges
those with safe markets to think again and try better to provide better
value services for their customers.
So with that history, Background Music Library has been created to
supply music to businesses across the world through the power of the
Internet. A cheap and reliable service for providing a lower cost of
delivering music to your business environments.
Not only do we offer instant downloads of music with licenses to match
your specific needs but we also offer music services whereby we provide
you with a collection of music that we rotate each month so you only
pay for what you use each month and are not left owning the rights to
play a whole heap of music that everyone, staff and customers are bored
with listening too.
We can provide you with an online player which schedules for changes in
playlists to match the mood of your customers depending on the time of
the day and also for you to be able to insert your own audio adverts
that will gently squeeze in between the music depending on yor schedule
to let customers know of key messages you have about your products and
services.
All this AND we reduce the costs of using music in your business. Why
wait any longer, use our contact form today and tell us more about your
business needs. We will be happy to help.
